Open Enrollment for Covered California is Nov. 1, 2017 – Jan. 31, 2018

Don’t be confused by all the national noise about a shortened open enrollment period! Unlike other states belonging to the federal health care exchange, Covered California’s open enrollment remains three-months-long – the same as years before – and runs from Nov. 1, 2017 until Jan. 31, 2018. Through Covered California, you can obtain affordable, brand-name health coverage, and you may be eligible for upfront tax credits — money you can receive now to help pay for your monthly health care costs.

Now is a good time to shop around for the health plan that provides the best value for you and your family. Consumers shop and compare affordable health plan options with the updated, online “Shop & Compare” tool, containing all Covered California health care plan rates for 2018.

During Covered California’s open enrollment period, visit www.CoveredCA.com where you can enroll online or get information about obtaining free, confidential in-person assistance in a variety of languages from a local certified enroller in your area. You can also have a certified enroller contact you within minutes through the ““Help on Demand” enroller in your area. In addition, you can enroll by calling Covered California’s Service Center at (800) 300-1506. And remember that you can now also enroll in dental and vision plans through Covered California.

It’s also important to note that Covered California’s renewal period began on Oct. 11, 2017, and runs through Jan. 31, 2017. During the renewal process, all consumers have the option of shopping for a new plan by working with a Certified Insurance Agent, the Covered California Service Center or another certified enroller. If a consumer doesn’t make any changes to their current health plan by Dec. 15, 2017, they will be automatically renewed to their existing plan, unless you have an Anthem Blue Cross of California health plan in the 16 affected pricing regions where the company has withdrawn services (all Covered California regions accept Santa Clara County, Northern California counties, and Central Valley).

In order to have coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2018, you will need to enroll by Dec. 15. So don’t delay, enroll today!
